Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell have been asked to star opposite each other in a new romantic comedy from Sony Pictures.

The two entertainers, 25 and 34 respectively, will appear on the silver screen in an untitled film directed by Will Gluck, deadline reported.

The R-rated feature is based on a script written by Ilana Wolpert that Gluck is rewriting.

Gluck will produce with Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum as part of his deal with Sony and his company Olive Bridge Entertainment.

The Euphoria actress will also executive produce for Fifty-Fifty Films, starring Natalie Sellers and Alyssa Altman along with RK Films.

The deal was finalized at the end of 2022 and shooting will begin at the end of February.

Sydney took to her Instagram account on Wednesday to share the news with her 14.4 million followers by posting a screenshot of the Deadline article.

“See you soon mate,” the image caption read, alongside a winking emoticon tagging Glen, Will and Sony.

The next year for the Spokane, Washington-born star is a busy one as she’s signed up for multiple projects.

In 2023, the White Lotus star will appear in the Sony/Marvel film Madame Web, followed by The Registration and Barbarella.

She will also produce a TV adaptation of The Players Table, based on Jessica Goodman’s novel They Wish They Were Us.

As for Powell, the new movie starring the blue-eyed beauty marks his return to rom-coms, having starred opposite Zoey Deutch in Set It Up.

Last year, he was featured in Top Gun: Maverick before teaming up with Sony to run Devotion.

He is next seen in the Universal sci-fi thriller Deputy X and will later team up with Nick Jonas in Foreign Relations.

Gluck also has an exciting near future roster, including an action comedy called End of the World.
