Margot Robbie has revealed the surprising reason why her school friends affectionately call her ‘Mad’.

While appearing on The Project on Tuesday night to promote her new film Babylon, the two-time Oscar nominee explained that the nickname was the result of an embarrassing elementary school accident.

“That’s been my nickname since I was six years old,” Margot told the panel.

“I think a substitute teacher made a mistake at roll call and said ‘made’ and everyone laughed,” she continued.
